DTI Thailand Tested Firing the RCWS on the D-Lion 4x4

DTI has test firing EOS R150S ultra-light remote weapons systems (RWS) with M2 .50caliber (12.7x99mm) heavy machineguns fitted on D-Lion 4x4 MRAP (all photos : DTI Thailand)

On Thursday, December 7, 2022, DTI conducted a test firing of the 12.7 mm turret for 4x4 wheeled vehicles (D-Lion) and 4x4 wheeled vehicles (D-Tiger) at Thung Prong area, Royal Thai Navy, Sattahip District, Chonburi.


DTI by the wheeled vehicle project (D61) has conducted training missions and test firing of 2 12.7 mm turrets installed on 4x4 wheeled armored vehicles to prevent mines and ambush (D-Lion) and a multi-purpose 4x4 wheeled vehicle (D-Tiger) by testing during the period of 6-8 Dec. 22 at the area of Thung Prong, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province.


In this time, the highlight of the test is a 12.7 mm gun test firing at stationary targets and targets, mobile type, at a distance of 400 m, the firing pattern is single shot and burst fire, stationary car and shoot while the car is moving.


Colonel Suthep Kheawphakdee, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and his team attended the observations and participated in the test of the turret, which the test results are in accordance with the requirements of the memorandum of agreement on joint research and development of 4x4 wheeled armored vehicles (mine and ambush protection) between DTI and RTARF (Royal Thai Armed Forces).
