The Royal Thai Air Force Held a Ceremony to Commissioning 12 T-6TH Training Aircraft Into Service

Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) held a commissioning ceremony for its twelve T-6TH (Beechcraft T-6C Texan II) trainer aircraft at RTAF Flying Training School Kamphaeng Saen in Nakhon Pathom Province on 22 August 2023 (photos : Royal Thai Air Force)

Commissioning ceremony of the Beechcraft T-6TH Texan II training aircraft into service at the Advanced Training Squadron, Flight Training Division, Flight School, Kamphaeng Saen District Nakhon Pathom Province of the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) on 22 August 2023 in the past came about ten months after the welcoming ceremony for the first 2 T-6TH Texan II training aircraft on November 14, 2022 and there is a gradual delivery of additional devices.


According to the pictures officially published by the Royal Thai Air Force one day later on August 23, 2023, all 12 T-6TH Texan II training aircraft were displayed in the school's parking lot fly to Kamphaengsaen shows that the Royal Thai Air Force has received complete equipment 12 machines already.

Flight Simulator
The commissioning ceremony of the T-6TH training aircraft on the same day also included the opening ceremony of the new flight simulator training building of the Royal Thai Air Force Aviation School. The commander of the Royal Thai Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Alongkorn Wannarot, also tried the flight simulator of the T-6C.


The Royal Thai Air Force has signed a contract for the procurement of 12 T-6TH training aircraft, amounting to 5,194,994,216.40 baht ($ 162 million) in October 2020 based on the Beachcraft T-6C Texan II trainer along with the transfer of technology from Textron Aviation Defense Company, USA to the Thai aviation industry, with the remaining 10 units T-6TH being delivered by ship and Assembled in Thailand by Thai Aviation Industries Company Limited (TAI) in Nakhon Sawan Province.


The introduction of training aircraft for the T-6TH training aircraft to complete service 12 machines will enable the Royal Thai Air Force to be able to retire the type of training aircraft, Pilatus PC-9 that has been in service since the year 1991, according to the plan to be discharged all during the year 2021-2023.


In the year 2024, the Royal Thai Air Force will also receive 8 attack and training aircraft, Beechcraft AT-6TH Wolverine, which are based in conjunction with T-6TH with technology as well.
