HTMS Prachuap Khiri Khan Practice firing Leonardo 76/62 Guns with VULCANO BER Ammunition

Offshore patrol boats of the HTMS Krabi series HTMS Prachuap Khiri Khan Royal Thai Navy (RTN) has practiced naval firearms with real ammunition during preparatory training 3rd NAC: Third Naval Area Command off the coast of Phuket in the Andaman Sea.

Together with other ships from the Phang Nga Naval Base, including frigate series HTMS Chao Phraya class HTMS Sai Buri practiced naval gun shooting NG12-1(H/PJ33A) twin 100mm and two twin 37mm NG15-2 (Type 76A) machine guns and fast attack ships, the HTMS Chonburi series of guns. HTMS Phuket Practice firing the OTO Melara 76/62 ship guns and the twin Oto Melara Breda 40/L70 DARDO machine guns. HMS Prachuap Khiri Khan Launched a Leonardo 76/62 Super Rapid Multi Feeding (SR MR) naval gun, another success after the first real launch of the Harpoon Block 1C in March 2023.


Firing of the Leonardo 76/62 SR MR of HMS Prachuap Khiri Khan which is a warship built in a Thai shipyard recently, on 23 June 2023, it was also revealed for the first time that VULCANO 76 BER (Ballistic Extended Range) ammunition was also fired.

The 76mm VULCANO BER is a long-range non-guided ammunition based on the Vulcano family of 155mm and 127mm ammunition, capable of firing at both surface targets, air target and supporting coastal fire with a firing range of up to 30km.

Using the Multifunction Fuze system such as Altimetric Fuze (Height Fuze), Proximity Fuze (Nearly Explosive Fuze), Time Fuze and Impact & Fusion and Delay Impact, it is a ship that is capable of using very modern weapons.
