China Shipbuilding & offshore International Co., Ltd.(CSOC), a state-owned shipbuilding industry enterprise in the People's Republic of China, has postponed a discussion with the Royal Thai Navy on the issue of Germany not allowing the export of 12V 396 SE84 MTU diesel engines for Thai S26T submarines come many times.

The latest schedule that has come out is that a delegation led by the company's deputy executives will be sent to Thailand between 6-8 June 2022, citing the latest Covid-19 outbreak in China and the Germany does not export engines. The construction of Thailand's first S26T submarine has now been stopped.

While China offers alternative diesel engines such as the DEUTZ MWM TBD 620, Germany is not an engine for use in submarines and appears to be self-made using original patents, but Germany does not have a production line, this version has been exported. The Thai Navy still insists that it must be an MTU engine only.
