Last August 7, 2023, the Department of Budget and Management provided a SARO (Special Allotment Release Order) amounting to 1,221,406,258.00 Billion Pesos for the Combat Engineer Equipment Acquisition Project of the Philippine Army.
The amount was provided for the two Philippine Army Combat Engineer Vehicle Projects, namely;
. Lot 3 (Dry Tactical Support Bridge) - 624,547,428.31 Million Pesos. Will be provided by WFEL Ltd from England
. Lot 4 (Armored Combat Earthmover) - 596,858,829.50 Million Pesos. Will be provided by FNSS a Turkish Company.

The Combat Engineer Equipment Acquisition project is a result of the experience the AFP learned in the Marawi Crisis of 2017. During the conflict, the bridge crossings in the Agus River which divided Marawi City become a highly contested area between the Isis-inspired Maute Group and the Government Forces.
