Live Gun Firing is a quarterly activity conducted by Philippine Fleet vessels to test and ensure the operability, reliability, accuracy and satisfactory performance of all naval combat systems to include the proficiency of the gun crew and fire control operators.

To maximize training, BRP ANDRES BONIFACIO (PS17), a Del Pilar Class Patrol Vessel, and the two (2) Jose Rizal Class Frigates - BRP Jose Rizal FF150 - PF and BRP Antonio Luna FF151 - PF, conducted the first-ever Offshore Combat Force - PF (OCF) Joint Gunnery Exercise on 23-25 March 2023, in the waters West off Subic Bay, Zambales.

As the primary fighting force at sea, the three (3) OCF platforms are mainly deployed in the West Philippine Sea to support the efforts of the Naval Operating Forces to protect our territorial integrity and sovereign rights in the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

Exercises such as these develop our interoperability to operate with other OCF platforms that increase our understanding on respective vessels warfare capability.
