The 4th Mechanized Infantry (Kalasag) Battalion conducted a functional test of the newly acquired M125A2 Armored Mortar Carrier (AMC) equipped with a 120mm Mounted Mortar System (MMS) which was held in Pantao Ragat, Lanao del Norte on February 12, 2023.
The activity aimed to test the said new assets on its effectiveness and adaptability to actual ground deployments. This also served as a refresher training to the trained crews of the said asset for them to be prepared at all times.
The AMCs with MMS are used by the US Army, the Israeli Defense Force, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries.
The new AMCs are part of the Philippine Army Modernization project of Armor (Pambato) Division that will capacitate the country’s land forces’ credible defense posture from various threats; local and international.
