MaxDefense Philippines confirmed that among those line-ups for procurement that is being prepared is the additional Light Lift Aircraft Acquisition Project, once DND Officer in Charge Senior Usec. Jose Faustino Jr. becomes the agency's Secretary in November 2022.
The project was confirmed to be among those line-ups for funding as part of the Fiscal Year 2023 defense budget.
It would be remembered that the Philippine Air Force is planning to acquire 6 new NC-212i Aviocar Light Lift Aircraft from PT Dirgantara Indonesia as part of efforts to improve the transport and logistics capability of the Philippine Air Force at all levels.
These aircraft will also be replacing the remaining NC-22B/C Nomad of the 220th Airlift Wing.
After several years of negotiation, we received an update that the funding has already been made and we expect the project to start soon.
