The Opening Ceremony of Joint Exercise Panther Gold 2023 Thai-British Armed Forces

The latest Panther Gold 2023 exercise between the Royal Thai Armed Forces (RTARF) and the British Armed Forces was held in the 4th Army Area of ​​the Royal Thai Army with an opening ceremony on July 5, 2023 at the Sichon Special Combat Training Camp, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province Conducting the training until the closing ceremony on July 25, 2023 at Ban Thung Hua Na School, Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province.


The Royal Thai Army is organized from the 5th Infantry Division, 5th Infantry Division, and the Security Battalion, Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters. The British Army, organized from the 1st Battalion, Gurkha Rifles (1 RGR: 1st Battalion, Royal Gurkha Rifles), took part.


The Royal Thai Armed Forces and the UK organized the first Panther Gold 2017 mixed exercise in 2017 and the second Panther Gold 2019 mixed exercise in 2019 with the exception of the year 2021 due to the Covid-19 epidemic situation and organized the third Panther Gold 2022 mixed exercise between 6 March - 3 April 2022.


This latest Panther Gold 2023 exercise has seen a number of modern equipment such as the Tactical Vest and the Royal Thai Army's Carl Gustav M4 recoilless rifle. The L134A1 automatic grenade launcher (H&K GMG) and the British Army's FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank guided missile.
