This week, after months of negotiations between the parties involved (governments and companies), Germany, through the Government Office for Export Control (Bundesamt für Wirtschaft und Ausfuhrkontrolle – BAFA), lifted the embargoes on the six components manufactured in its country and used by the 6X6 Guarani medium wheeled armored personnel carrier (VBTP-MSR), allowing its export to the Philippines.
The embargoed components were Ballistic steel, Anti-mine ballistic protection plates, Periscopes models M17 (driver) and M45 (commander), CV axle shafts, Transmission, and Cooling system fan (FAN) were all manufactured by the German company.
Iveco Defence Vehicles (IDV), which has already produced five units, plans to ship these vehicles in the coming weeks, as soon as customs procedures are completed, and the rest of the 23 are already in production.
