Thirty New Zealand troops will travel to the UK to help Ukrainian soldiers master the towed 105-mm L119 light howitzer.
This was announced on Monday by the Prime Minister of New Zealand.
"Currently, there are very few armed forces that can make such preparations," said Jacinda Ardern, "which is why New Zealand was called."
The commander of the New Zealand Defense Forces, Marshal of Aviation Kevin Short, said that New Zealand plans to train about 230 Ukrainian gunners. "We think it will take at least a week to train a luxury man," he said.
Ukrainian military training is expected to continue in late July.
The British light 105 mm L119 howitzer (also manufactured under license in the United States as the M119) is designed to support infantry. Maximum range up to 17 km. The weight of the howitzer is 1.9 tons. The calculation consists of three people.
