Prototype of the 105mm CS/AH2 light artillery howitzer, which is a joint research and development project between the National Defense Technology Institute (DTI), and the Artillery Center, Royal Thai Army.
It was fired in the fiscal year's artillery demonstration of weapons and firepower 2024 at Khao Phu Lon Artillery Shooting Range Artillery Center on 27 November 2023, marking the first public demonstration of firing.
Since the prototype of the CS/AH2 105mm light artillery projectile, it has also been tested at the Khao Phu Lon artillery shooting range. which was published in September 2023 after the Thai DTI and the Artillery Center of The Royal Thai Army signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation on March 15, 2023.
DTI Thailand has announced a contract with POLY TECHNOLOGIES, INC., People's Republic of China for the joint research and development project to build a prototype 105mm light artillery projectile, CS/AH2 type, Phase 1, budget of 48,000,000 baht ($1,439,712) in September 2021.
The CS/AH2 is a light artillery developed for export by POLY DEFENSE, a defense industrial enterprise of the People's Republic of China.
The demonstration also included the launch of the D11A multi-barreled launch vehicle, which is based on the PULS (Precise and Universal Launching System) self-propelled rocket launcher system from Israel's Elbit Systems.
According to information from the recent Defense & Security 2023 event, DTI plans to test fire the D11A with a 122mm Accular guided missile with an effective firing range of 40km at the Khao Phu Lon Artillery Range in 2024.
DTI Thailand also showcased the 122mm DTI-2 rocket, a surface-to-area rocket system developed entirely in Thailand. Which is compatible with the SR4 122mm self-propelled multi-barreled rocket that the Royal Thai Army procures from China that uses the SHE-30 and SHE-40 122mm rockets. It is self-reliant and reduces imports.
