The Royal Thai Navy's ACDC Practiced Live Fire for the First Time with the Igla-S

On May 18, 2023, the 11th Air Defense Battalion, the 1st Air Defense Regiment, the Air and Coastal Defense Command (ACDC), Royal Thai Navy successfully conducted the first live fire of the Igla-S mobile close-range anti-aircraft missile system at the weapons training range FTC: Fleet Training Command (FTC), Royal Thai Fleet, Yao Thung Prong Beach, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province.


The Igla-S surface-to-air missile successfully hit a flare at a distance of 1,500m towed by a multirotor unmanned aerial vehicle developed by the Agency Naval Research and Development Office (NRDO).


Mobile close-range anti-aircraft guided weapon it consists of a two-shot Igla-S surface-to-air missile in a Russian Dzhigit launcher on a Thairung TR Transformer 4x4 family of trucks, reinforced with armor and a snorkel tube for maneuvering in water that is installed in Thailand was introduced to the public for the first time in the tactical firearms training with live ammunition of the Air Combat Command and Royal Navy Defense Forces at the weapons training range Long Beach, Thung Prong as well on January 25, 2023 as part of the 2023 Naval Training. Datagate Company Thailand was the winner of the project to supply 5 sets of mobile close-range anti-aircraft missiles for the budget of 245,890,000 baht ($ 7,682,982.06) for the Royal Thai Air Force and Defense Command in the year 2021.


The image has been found that the system was delivered in the fourth quarter of last year, test firing using a multirotor UAV developed in Thailand and the integration of Thairung 4x4 trucks with the Dzhigit launcher and the Russian Igla-S surface-to-air missiles represent the support of the Thai Navy's defense industry.
