A series of SARO or Special Allotment Release Order from the Department of Budget and Management has been released for various AFP Modernization projects.
First is the SARO for the LRPA or Long Range Patrol Aircraft acquisition for the Philippine Air Force. The amount of 896,400,000.00 Million Pesos has been released for the initial downpayment last August 12, 2022.
The Department of National Defense will be issuing the Notice of Award in the coming days which we can expect will be awarded to ATR Aerospace Company and to Israel Aerospace Industries IAI. LRPA has a total approved budget of almost 4 Billion Pesos and the winning proponent will provide two Maritime Patrol Aircraft to the Philippine Air Force.
