Missile System Officer Course (MSOC) CL 03-2022 Shipboard Tour and Missile System Familiarization Course

BRP Jose Rizal (FF150) is equipped with 2×MBDA Mistral Simbad-RC twin launchers, 4×LIGNex1 SSM-700K C-Star anti-ship missile on twin canisters and 2×SEA triple torpedo tubes for K745 Blue Shark torpedo. Naval Operating Base Subic, Zambales- The Missile System Officer Course Class 03-2022 headed by the Deputy Group Commander of 960AMDG, MAJ SANTIAGO R BAUTISTA PAF, conducted their shipboard tour and missile system familiarization aboard BRP JOSE RIZAL (FF150) last 21 June 2022.


The aim of the activity is for the students to have an overview about the missile capabilities of the Philippine Navy’s first missile frigate. Specifically, they were introduced to the first Surface-to-Air Missiles, Surface-to-Surface Missiles other weapon systems aboardship.


Likewise, the Commanding Officer of FF150 appreciated the visit of the student officers from the Philippine Air Force and emphasized the importance in understanding the warfare capabilities of the navy’s modern surface assets for joint operations.


The MSOC CL 03-2022 is composed of 10 student officers and 13 training staff and is set to perform as missile defense officers under the Air Defense Command of the Philippine Air Force after their graduation on 08 July 2022.
