Soldiers from the U.S. Army and TNI Angkatan Darat, working together, conducted live gunnery on the AH-64E Apache helicopter in the air and the Javelin missile on the ground near Baturaja, Indonesia on Aug. 10, 2022 as part of exercise Super Garuda Shield 22.

Super Garuda Shield, a part of Operation Pathways and a longstanding annual, bilateral military exercise conducted between the U.S. military and Indonesia National Armed Forces, reinforces the U.S. commitments to our allies, and regional partners, joint readiness, and the interoperability to fight and win together.

Garuda Shield originally is a two-week joint-exercise between the United States Army and Indonesian Army. This joint-exercise was first held in 2007.

The exercise will last until August 14, encompassing army, navy, air force, and marine drills.
