DTI and Chaiseri Thailand to Export First Win 4x4 Vehicle to the Philippines

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has a need to supply Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles (MRAP) 4x4 total 900 vehicles for security and anti-insurgency in the country.

Chaiseri Metal & Rubber Co. Ltd., Thailand has offered its First Win 4x4 wheeled armored vehicle in a left-hand drive version to the Philippines in number of 200 cars for years.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the Philippines wants to procure MRAP wheeled armored vehicles in the form of government-to-government agreements. Defense Technology Institute DTI has joined with Thai Chaiseri Company to establish Thai Defense Industry Company to support Thai arms export competition.

The latest signing of the Minutes Of Meeting and Implementing Arrangement on 12 May 2022 following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philippines before.


It is a progress in supporting the offering of Chaiseri First Win 4x4 family armored vehicles to the Philippines. If successful, the Philippines will be the third country in ASEAN to supply Thailand's First Win wheeled vehicle after Malaysia as Deftech AV4 4x4 and Indonesia as the Hanoman 4x4.

And will be the latest export customer from Bhutan to supply in various models including 15 vehicles for the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic.

The First Win 4x4 wheeled armored vehicle has been procured from the Royal Thai Army and Thai security agencies in large numbers. Both the Royal Thai Army (RTA), Thai Marines Royal Thai Navy Royal Thai Marine Corps (RTMC), Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF),
Royal Thai Police (RTP), Department of Special Investigation Ministry of Justice, Office of the Narcotics Control Board, Institute of Forensic Science And the Department of Corrections, etc. , where all the cars procured have been used in real-life applications such as at the southern border for many years. 

However, the steps leading up to the supply of the First Win 4x4 armored vehicle are still delayed. Given that the Philippines has just had a presidential election on May 9, 2022, it is understood that the new government of the incumbent president Bongbong Marcos, after taking office, will decide on this later.
