Royal Thai Air Force was established Wing 3 Watthana Nakhon at former RTAF Base 206th Squadron Watthana Nakhon, Sa Kaeo Province as new home base for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) fleet.
As previously reported, the Royal Thai Air Force has deployed 17 RTAF U1-M medium-sized tactical unmanned aircraft into service at the 404 Squadron, Takhli 4 Airborne Division, 17 aircraft and was deployed at the 206th Wattana Nakhon Squadron, Sa Kaeo Province.
Most recently, the Royal Thai Air Force has established Wing 3 at the site of the original 206 squadron, planned as the site of a UAV squadron that includes the RTAF U1-M medium-armed tactical unmanned aircraft.
In the past, Wing 3 that was closed in years 1977, used to have a location at the Korat air base together with the Aviation School before moving to the present Kamphaeng Saen Aviation School and Wing 1 moved from Don Mueang Air Force Base come to Korat today.
