UN Report Says Greenhouse Gas Concentrations Hit A New Record In 2020 Dspite Widesprtead Lockdowns

The above graphic shows how greenhouse gas emissions have increased between 1900 and 2020

Daily Mail: Greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere hit a record high in 2020 despite Covid pandemic - as UN warns that global emissions are forecast to be 16% HIGHER by 2030

* Greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere hit record highs again last year

* UN has also said world's emissions are on track to be 16 per cent higher by 2030

* It comes a week before world leaders attend COP26 climate change conference

* 2015 Paris Agreement aimed to limit global average temperature to 1.5°C (2.7°F)

Levels of planet-warming greenhouse gases in the atmosphere reached record highs again in 2020 despite the Covid pandemic, scientists have warned.

Concentrations of CO2, methane and nitrous oxide rose faster than at any point during the previous decade, with the trend continuing into 2021, the UN's World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) said.

WNU Editor: This is grim news. If locking down a good portion of the economy during the pandemic resulted in still higher levels of CO2 emissions, governments will not be able to reach their promised Paris Climate accord numbers as promised unless they shut down major portions of the economy.
