Jerong Fast Attack Craft (FAC) Class

Jerong class consist of six ships : 3505 KD Jerung 3505, KD Todak 3506, KD Paus 3507, KD Yu 3508, KD Baung 3509, KD Pari 3510, licensed-built locally by Hong-Leong Lurssen Shipyards under a major technology transfer program (all photos : Navy The Best)

Jerong class ship is the Royal Malaysian Navy ship of Fast Attack Craft (FAC) class - Gunboats (G) or Patrol class built in the 1970 s. Sometimes rarely seen and known to the public.

TLDM ships in Jerong class between solid TLDM ships and frequently carry out water safety duties and operate in wide and challenging areas such as the area of TLDM reef stations and islands belonging to Malaysia as well as on the East coast of Sabah or Sabah Selamat Zone (ESSZONE).


Ships in their class at the time were designed to be fast and sassy during the maneuver as well as moving capabilities in shallow waters such as the ocean area and sandy beting.

Moreover, there's no doubt the business of TLDM crews are always at its finest in the face of various war scenarios especially threats on the surface of water in the ocean. In accordance with the cogan they say 'Ready to Sacrifice' but at the same time the business of TLDM ships need to be along and sufficient and modern like the crews of those TLDM ship.

The Royal Malaysia Navy (TLDM) needs to replace its old ships and add more tangible ships because Malaysia is a wide maritime country separated by the Champa Sea.
