Update #2: Xi Jinping proposes a four-party peace treaty (The Dong-A Ilbo)
WNU editor: I proposed somewhat the same idea a few weeks ago. The first thing that needs to be done is an agreement to an armistice (the Korean war never officially ended 65 years ago). After that agreement .... a formal peace treaty. I originally thought that an agreement between the two Korean governments would be good enough, but President Xi's idea to involve all parties is even better. If an agreement can be reached, it will then bind everyone to respect it and give it more substance. But President Trump is also correct to insist that everyone does not get ahead of themselves .... that everyone should not lose focus on on the primary issue of North Korea and its nuclear weapons.
