It Was Two Years Ago Today That Donald Trump Announced His Candidacy For The President Of The United States

WNU Editor: It was two years ago today that Donald Trump announced his candidacy for the Presidency of the United States. Two years of opposition attacks, media attacks, God only knows how many investigations, leaks, innuendos, accusations .... and where everyday there was/is a concerted effort to destroy him. Two years .... and no one has still been able to lay a glove on him. He is still the President .... a position that no one in Washington or in the main stream media gave him even a 1% chance of winning two years ago. And for someone who has been labelled nonstop as a reprobate (or worse) for 2 years .... he is enjoying a 50% approval rate today .... Daily Presidential Tracking Poll: Rasmussen. But while I understand the opposition that is directed at President Trump from the Democrats/progressives/the media .... it is the Republican establishment reaction today that makes me laugh .... they are now hoping for a President Pence .... Man on a Wire: Mike Pence’s Tightrope Act (Politico).

And how is the world reacting .... that story is even better. They say that they are laughing at President Trump .... but I see something else .... I see fear in weak people when they meet someone that they cannot dominate and who must ridicule him to feel better. Macron's handshake. NATO leaders giggling when President Trump spoke at NATO HQ on the need for member states to meet their commitments. Merkel's declaration that Europe must go its way. Australia's PM mocking Trump a few days ago. This is all talk to make those who oppose President Trump feel better .... but in the end it changes nothing .... he is still the President of the United States, and they are far more dependent on him than the other way around. And as for the nations that do count .... China/Russia/India .... and close U.S. allies like Israel/Saudi Arabia/Japan .... you do not hear laughter .... what you hear and see is respect and a willingness to work together.

My prediction .... all of this is going to get worse. President Trump is holding on and he is thriving .... but the ones who want him gone are the ones who are waking up every morning who see that he is still there .... and you can tell by what they write and what they say on TV that it is eating them up everyday. And when President Trump tweets .... it is always amazing to see the reaction .... first the universal condemnation that he should not tweet .... and then being forced to respond to it knowing that millions of people have already read what he tweeted, and have already been informed on what is his side of the story.

As for what is my own point of view (separate from my observations above) .... there is a lot of President Trump that I do not like. Nepotism. Mixing business with politics. A lack of a political ideology. An unwillingness to tone down his rhetoric. No strategy or policy proposals on major economic and international issues .... and in regards to defence/war policies and strategies .... just promises that changes will happen in the future ... which for me means more of the same. It is still early in his term .... he has 3 1/2 years left in his term .... things may change. But I am not optimistic. And as for those who oppose President Trump .... they have to change their tactics .... because after 2 years it is not working.
