Boustead Naval Shipyard (BNS) has handed over KD Sri Inderasakti, a Multi Purpose Command and Support Ship (MPCSS) to the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) following the completion of Docking Essential Defect (DED) routine at the company’s facility in Lumut Naval base near Manjung, Perak.

The MPCSS played a vital part in providing sealift capability to the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). The RMN plans to acquire Multi Role Support Ship (MRSS) to replace the two MPCSS namely KD Sri Inderasakti and KD Mahawangsa as part of 15-to-5 Fleet Transformation strategic plan within a couple of years under the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK-12).
