TUDM Helds International Open Tender Briefing for MPA Phase 1

KUALA LUMPUR - International Open Tender Briefing for Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) Phase 1 TUDM was held in video conference (VC) on October 1, 2020 located at Intermark Plaza, Kuala Lumpur.

This briefing was a historic moment and first time hosted by the acquisition Division 3 (PERO 3), the Ministry of Defense in cooperation with TUDM and the Division of Defense Industry (BIP) for the International Open Tender. RUDM has been represented by MTU P & P officers and MPA acquisition Project Team. The briefing was held in a video conference as a prevention measure of COVID-19 outbreak since the country is still in the Order of Recovery Movement Control (Chogm) including foreign countries that are still impressed with the global health issue.

The briefing was accompanied by international and local companies by expressing the desire to supply MPA aircraft to the RUDM. The international open tender process has been advertised through media (print and online), the myprocurement portal and letter to the embassies related embassies on 25 August 2020 and will be closed on 3 December 2020.

The RUDM has presented its strategic planning to obtain a full-spectrum MPA plane. The aircraft's acquisition is also in line with future planning to increase asset capabilities through TUDM 2055 Development Plan (CAP55) and support the business of the operation of TUDM based on the direction of ATM and Ministry of Defense such as the Statement of White Paper of Defense.

Thus, the Malaysian Government has approved a number of allocations under the Approval of Critical Requirements (RP)-4) for the acquisition of two (2) MPA aircraft for Phase 1. Through the early planning of CAP55, the total amount of six (6) MPA fruit needed by TUDM.
