The Naval Technical Institute recently showcased their progress on developing an indigenous Combat Management System (CMS) for use with the Vietnam People's Navy. Weapons integration tests were carried out with an AK-230 turret while software for the AK-630 CIWS was also shown.

The development of an independent CMS is important as it will allow Vietnamese naval forces to integrate with the overall national defense complex being constructed.

Currently the Vietnam People's Air Defense-Air Force already has the VQ02 National Integrated Air Defense System set up across the country. Data picked up on radar sites is computed than automatically transmitted to various air force units across the country.

As development on the VPN's CMS continues, all data will soon be integrated into a single system shared by air, land, and naval assets.
