Australian firm EOS Defence Systems has expanded its presence in Singapore to pursue what the company sees as emerging opportunities in the market to supply remote weapon systems (RWS).
EOS officials told Jane's at the Singapore Airshow on 11 February that the company has recently opened a facility within the country to undertake work including systems integration and production, and maintenance, repair, overhaul and upgrades (MRO&U).
The new facility is initially aimed at supporting EOS' R-600 RWS. Jane's understands that about 300 Terrex infantry carrier vehicles of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) are fitted with the R-600 RWS.
Company officials also said that EOS aims to double the size of its facility over the next few years, although the scope of that expansion will depend on additional orders of EOS products and technologies.
