NAeL delivered to its new parent 335 cable looms for the Light Combat Aircraft and 28 looms for the Advanced Light Helicopter this week
Naini Aerospace Ltd. (NAeL), the sick Allahabad company that Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. acquired last year, has delivered its first batch of cable looms for indigenous aircraft, HAL said on Thursday.
NAeL, formerly public sector Hindustan Cables Ltd., delivered to its new parent 335 cable looms for the Light Combat Aircraft and 28 looms for the Advanced Light Helicopter this week, HAL said. The old HCL facility in Naini in Uttar Pradesh had been idle for 20 years until HAL acquired it in February 2017, retrained its staff and began production of cable looms last July.
The plant will be operational by June 1, V.M. Chamola, NAeL Chairman and Director (HR), said.
He added that NAeL had earned revenue in its first financial year of revival. A centre of excellence for aviation loom manufacturing was planned there.
Unit CEO R.K. Mishra presented the certificate of conformity of aircraft and helicopter looms to M.S. Velpari, General Manager, LCA Tejas Division, on Tuesday.
