GSL delivered all six large sized patrol vessels ahead of contractual schedule
The last of the series of six new offshore patrol vessel (OPV), ICGS Sujay built by Goa Shipyard Ltd, was delivered to the Indian Coast Guard, 34 days ahead of the contractual schedule. GSL has delivered all six large sized patrol vessels ahead of schedule.
“The delivery of sixth Coast Guard OPV ahead of the schedule is a landmark event for GSL. With this, GSL has delivered 4 OPVs to Coast Guard, 1 fuel barge to Indian Navy, 2 FPVs to Mauritius and 1 OPV to Sri Lanka, in the last fifteen months which is ultimate testimony to GSL’s execution capabilities and rarely seen in Indian shipbuilding industry,” GSL CMD Rear Admiral (Retd) Shekhar Mital said.
The delivery of this 6th OPV to Coast Guard marks culmination of 6 CGOPV project, the first vessel of which was commissioned by the then defence minister Manohar Parrikar on November 10, 2015.
